OI495966412_McMullenEd001[1]Edward C. McMullen Jr. , 82, of 248 Hone Ave. Oil City, PA., passed away Friday May 8 at 10:30 A.M. peacefully in his home.

Born Aug. 19, 1932 in Conneautville, PA., he was the son of the late Edward C. McMullen Sr. & Leona Keiser McMullen.
Ed was a 1950 graduate of Oil City High School.

Mr. McMullen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving stateside during the Korean War.

He started working for Sears, then United Natural Gas and retired from Seneca Printing where he worked as an accountant.

Ed was married on Sept. 15, 1956 in St. Joseph Church to the former Josephine C. Emanuele and she survives.

Ed was a member of St. Joseph Church, and the Knights of Columbus, where he had served as past grand knight.

He was also a member of the over the hill gang at Oil Creek State Park.

Ed enjoyed volunteering at the park, fishing, walking the trails and watching for wildlife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Jane Moss of Tarentum, PA, Cathy Jones of Oil City, Patty Golden of Ft. Myers, FL, Edward McMullen & his wife Erin of Chapel Hill, NC, and Anthony McMullen of Edinboro; nine grandchildren: Brian, Zach, Tara, Audrey, Sam, Allison, Elliot, Chloe and Owen; 3 great grandchildren: Jemiah, Josiah and Nevaeh, 1 brother James F. McMullen & his wife Romaine of Charleston, SC, 1 sister Marilyn Grogan of Gibsonia, PA, and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Monday May 11 in the Seneca United Methodist Church 196 E. State Rd. in Seneca.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the Church with Rev. William Hastings, Pastor, Presiding.

Memorials may be made to the Oil Creek State Park.
