Car Slams into Utility Pole in Emlenton, Driver Escapes Injury

EMLENTON BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:10 p.m. on May 10, a one-car accident occurred on Kerr Avenue, at its intersection with Center Street, in Emlenton Borough, Venango County.

Police say 22-year-old James P. Hager, Jr., of Emlenton, was traveling northbound on Kerr Avenue in a 2004 Toyota Solara and struck a utility pole on the west side of the roadway curb, tearing the left front wheel, “A” arm, and strut from the left front of the car.

The car continued north on Kerr Avenue for approximately 400 feet before coming to a stop. It then slid backwards for approximately 50 feet before coming to a rest facing north, according to police.

Hager was not injured, police say.

He was not using a seat belt, according to police.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Emlenton Fire Department and Hovis Towing assisted at the scene.
