OWENSbeth-anneBeth-Anne Marie Owens, 33, a resident of 1437 Eagle Street, Franklin was pronounced deceased at 7:30 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2015; as a result of injuries that she sustained in a motor vehicle accident along U.S. Route 322 in Crawford County.

She was born June 5, 1981 in Franklin, a beloved daughter of Ricky A. Owens and Sandra L. Prince.

Beth-Anne was a 1999 graduate of Franklin High School; and was a 2004 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. Beth-Ann furthered her education, by earning her Masters degree in Infant Mental Health from Chatham College in Pittsburgh; and she also pursued and was very proud of achieving her long-term desire of becoming an ordained minister.

As a vibrant young woman, with a profound love of children, Beth-Ann was presently working as a Parent Involvement Coordinator with the Early Head Start Program of Venango and Crawford counties.

She was actively involved with the Venango Fatherhood Iniative, Children’s Day at the Cranberry Mall, the Spirit of Giving, Friends for Food, various U.S. Postal Drives, Empty Bowl and its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, various benefit Golf Scrambles and Toys for Tots; just to name a few.

Beth-Anne was serving as a Board member of the Early Head Start Parent Committee, was the Cooking Counts facilitator for Venango and Crawford counties and was actively involved with the Family Interaction Time program.

A loving mother, Beth-Anne is survived by her beloved daughters: Kaycee, Kalyn and Kelsey Sweeney; and by their father: Bob Sweeney all of Franklin.

Also surviving is her mother: Sandra Prince-Blyler and her step-father: David Blyler of Franklin; her father: Rick Owens and her step-mother: Betty Owens also of Franklin; in addition to her paternal grandparents: Bill and Jean Owens of Oil City; her sister: Amanda Owens and her fiancé Andy Barrett and their daughter: Breanna Barrett; and her step-brother: Nathan Beatty and his wife: Monica and their children: Austin and Caiden Beatty, all also of Franklin.

Also surviving are her aunts and uncles, who loved her very much: William and Linda Owens of Oil City and their children: Billy and Chris Owens; Rita Owens and her special friend: Linda Conder of Sherwood, Oregon; Camala and James Craig of Rouseville and her children: Ricky Porter and fiancé Sherri Nolf of Franklin and Scott and Jeanne Porter of Kentucky; Michelle and Joe Baker of Franklin and their children: Stacey and Joey Baker and by Michael and Crystal Prince and their children: Melanie, Michael and Ty Prince; in addition to numerous extended family members and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Mike and Janet Prince and by her beloved great-aunt and significant person in her life: Bonnie Neeley.

Friends may call Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 11 AM in St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty Street, with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
