Tionesta Man Falls Asleep at the Wheel, Rolls Vehicle

TIONESTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Marienville-based State Police, a one-vehicle crash occurred around 9:12 p.m. on May 10, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

Police say the crash occurred as Donald L. Kunselman, 70, of Tionesta, was traveling north on State Route 36 in a 2008 Dodge Dakota.

According to police, Kunselman fell asleep at the wheel as he was negotiating a right curve in the roadway and traveled off the left side of the road.

Once off the road, Kunselman’s vehicle impacted a guide rail, trees, and rolled onto its driver’s side, police say.

The vehicle came to a final rest on its driver’s side over an embankment.

According to police, Kunselman sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated on scene by Tionesta EMS.

He was cited with a traffic violation.
