Clarion Woman Escapes Injury in Venango County Crash

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 7:28 a.m. on May 13, a two-vehicle accident occurred on U.S. Route 322 at its intersection with Big Egypt Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, the crash involved Mary N. Crawford, 46, of Clarion, and Pamela J. Marterella, 45, of Franklin.

Marterella, driving a 2006 Honda Odyssee, was traveling eastbound on Route 322 with her left turn signal activated, preparing to turn left onto Big Egypt Road when Crawford, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, rear-ended Marterella’s vehicle.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision and escaped injuries.

Three passengers in Marterella’s vehicle were also wearing seat belts and also escaped injury. The passengers were minors.

Crawford was cited with a traffic violation.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Venango Towing.
