Mary Jayne McEntire

Mary Jayne McEntire, 93, a former resident of 110 Elm Street, Franklin died peacefully at 7:50 AM Saturday, May 9, 2015 in The Caring Place of Franklin; following a period of declining health.

She was born December 4, 1921 in Nickleville, a beloved daughter of the late: David K. and Margaret Houston Best.

She attended and graduated from Emlenton High School.

Mrs. McEntire had worked for a number of years in the office of the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in Franklin.

Jayne liked to bake and was happiest as a homemaker for her family. She looked forward to family get-togethers, and especially enjoyed the holidays.

She was a longtime, faithful member of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church.

She was married November 21, 1942 to C. Arthur “Art” McEntire; who preceded her in death on April 16, 2013.

Surviving are her sons: Fred McEntire of Pittsburgh and Tim McEntire and his wife Brenda of Conneaut Lake. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law: Brenda McEntire of Smithville, TX.

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Tim McEntire, Heather Jones and her husband Jason and Lili, Kira and Jennifer McEntire.; and her great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Drew and Taylor; in addition to her sister: Sarah “Sally” Best of Nickleville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Kerry McEntire, her brother: Herbert Best and by three sisters: Helen Mortimer, Dorothy “Dottie” Schruers and Effie Brosius.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A memorial service, in celebration of her life, is being planned by her family and will be announced at a later time.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed in her name to the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, 321 Rocky Grove Avenue, Franklin, PA 16323.
