Verda R. Wyant

1755_sm[1]Verda R. Wyant, 83, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1932 in Muddlick, Armstrong County, PA, the daughter of Floyd P. and Verda L. (Troup) Holben.

Mrs. Wyant was a graduate of Union High School and a member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church. For more than 30 years, she worked for Davis Cookie Company and was also former member of the T.O.P.’s club in Clarion. She looked forward to family reunions and visiting family. Verda will best be remembered for her unique sense of humor and striking up a conversation with anyone. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren and displaying photos of them all. She loved life and was a proud grandmother.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Stephen D. Wyant, of Rimersburg, and Kenneth E. Wyant and wife, Dana, of Huntertown, IN; daughter, Kimberly J. Burkhart and husband, Henry, of Knox; grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Zachary, Ashley, Brooke and Lindsey; a brother, Fred E. Holben and wife, Lucy, of Brookville; and two sisters, Anna Jean Hartle of Shippenville, and Shirley J. Bowser and husband, Richard, of Kittanning.

Verda was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Cloyd E. ”Mutt” Wyant, whom she married January 9, 1960 and who died December 15, 2010; and a brother, James Holben.

Family and friends will be received from 1-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2015 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, May 17, 2015, at Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rimersburg, PA, with the Rev. Mark G. Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
