Clarion Animal Hospital Gives $65,000 to Clarion County YMCA Project

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Clarion Animal Hospital is the latest in a growing list of businesses and organizations to show their appreciation to their Clarion County customers with a $65,000.00 contribution to the Clarion County YMCA Capital Campaign.

Owned by Dr. Jatin Mehta and Dennyse Mehta, the Clarion Animal Hospital first opened in 1992. The couple relocated from Austin, Texas, looking for the famous four-season weather and a close-knit community to build their practice and to raise their family.  The hospital continued to grow to where it now has four doctors and a staff of 18.

Their commitment to community also grew throughout the years and the $65,000.00 gift to the YMCA is also part of that growth.

The Mehta’s have three children, all raised in Clarion County.

“Our clients are spread all over Clarion County and have been very supportive of us through the years,” said Dennyse.  “We would like to thank our clients and give back to the Clarion County community.”

The $8.1 million full-service Clarion County YMCA will be located near Exit 62 of I-80 and the Clarion Oaks Golf Course. The campaign’s silent phase has already raised $5.4 million (almost 70 percent) from lead gifts and commitments by a small group of key individuals, including more than $600,000.00 in pledges from the local YMCA Board. A community campaign for the remaining $2.7 million is now being launched.

During its 23 years of providing veterinary services to Clarion County, the animal hospital has treated 47,000 pets.

The 18 employees at the Animal Hospital live throughout Clarion County, and the hospital also supports local schools in the area.

“Our business relies on the whole county, and we want to thank the entire county by supporting this key community initiative,” said Dennyse.

“We are a proud sponsor of the new Clarion County YMCA and know that it will have a significant impact on the health and lifestyle of Clarion County residents,” adds Dennyse.

The new project, among other facilities, will bring access to a four-lane lap swimming/therapy pool and other year-round recreation activities that the YMCA provides because of its 501(c) 3 status.
