Sergeant Wright Interviews Mother of Child Who Witnessed Couple Having Sex

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:09 p.m. on May 12, Sergeant Wright, of the New Bethlehem Police Department, met with a known woman who stated that her 9-year-old daughter came home from Gumtown Park with her grandmother and told her that there were two people at the park “riding each other” under a blanket. The known woman told Sergeant Wright that she drove to Gumtown Park and witnessed two people having sex under a blanket.

The known woman said that once the two individuals noticed she was there, the male stood up and put his shorts back on. She said the two individuals were still at their vehicle, the complaint states.

Sergeant Wright Interviews Suspects

Sergeant Wright made contact with the two individuals identified by the known woman. The male was identified as Brian L. Manley, of Salem, Ohio. The female was identified as Lauren Elizabeth Greenfield, of Natrona Heights, the complaint indicates.

When questioned by Sergeant Wright, Manley allegedly told him that he and Greenfield were just kissing and that Greenfield was rubbing his back. Greenfield remained silent during the interactions, the complaint continues.

According to the complaint, Sergeant Wright advised Greenfield and Manley that the known woman was upset because they were having sex in a public park and that her nine-year-old daughter had witnessed it. Manley allegedly denied it.

Sergeant Wright told him that two adult witnesses and three children all observed them having sex and that one of the adults witnessed him putting his pants back on. Manley just looked at Sergeant Wright, the complaint indicates.

Victim’s Grandmother Interviewed

The nine-year-old’s grandmother was interviewed, and she stated that she had taken her granddaughter and a friend to the park and were met there by another male juvenile, the complaint states.

The known grandmother stated that the children were playing basketball, and she noticed movement under a tree in the park. She then realized that there were two people having sex under a blanket under the tree. She attempted to keep the children’s attention away from the two individuals, but eventually the children noticed it. She said that one of the children yelled at the couple to “stop having sex,” but they continued, according to the complaint.

The known grandmother and known mother were both very disgusted by the acts they had witnessed and were even more upset that the children had to witness this act as well, the complaint continues.
