Rider Injured in Motorcycle vs Deer Collision

ASHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a deer versus motorcycle accident occurred on Route 322, 787 feet north of an unnamed street, in Ashland Township, Clarion County.

Police say at 5:44 p.m. on May 14, 2015, 59-year-old Denis A. Neeley, of Shippenville, was traveling east on Route 322, when a deer entered the path of his 2006 Yamaha XVS1100 from the south berm.

Neeley impacted the deer, causing him to lay down the motorcycle, according to police.

At the same time, 46-year-old Zofia Tynski, of Clarion, was travelling west on the roadway in 2013 Cadillac CTS4.

After being hit by the motorcycle, the deer traveled into the westbound lane where it was impacted again by Tynski.

Neeley was wearing a helmet but did sustained moderate injuries in the accident. He was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment.

Tynski was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Knox Volunteer Fire Department and Knox EMS assisted at the scene.
