OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities in Oil City say an arrest has been made in an aggravated assault on a child case following a five month investigation.

According to police, 24-year-old Shamara Rae Bosley, of Oil City, was arrested at 11:00 a.m. on May 18 on a felony count of Aggravated Assault on a Child and a misdemeanor count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The charges stem from an investigation that was initiated in November of 2014 when Bosley’s male child, then nine months old, was taken to the hospital for a different reason, and a healing broken clavicle (collarbone) was allegedly detected on the X-Ray, police say.

After several interviews and further investigation, it was determined that Bosley was allegedly responsible for the injury. Through the investigation, it was learned that the injury allegedly happened while a shirt was being put on the child, according to police.

Bosley was arraigned before District Judge Andrew Fish and released on $75,000.00 bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on May 27 in Venango County Central Court.

The Oil City Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Venango County Children and Youth Agency and a specialized unit from the PA State Police out of the Warren Barracks.
