Chicora Man Killed in Butler County Crash

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Butler-based State Police, a Chicora man was killed after his van struck a deer at 7:28 p.m. May 18 in Oakland Township, Butler County.

Police say Kenneth Earl Pate, 59, of Chicora, was traveling south on Center Drive when his 2002 GMC van struck a deer.

Pate lost control of his vehicle and struck a culvert.

The vehicle then rolled onto its side and slid into a tree, according to police.

Pate was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was wearing his seat belt and the airbags deployed.
