SARVER, Pa. (EYT) — Rain was the big winner over the weekend as wet weather swept the area all weekend long.

Lernerville Speedway was the only track able to get their entire show in on Friday and that included nearly a two hour rain delay. The delay didn’t slow down New Brighton’s Dan Kuriger as he dominated the sprint car feature for his first career Lernerville win. AJ Flick would settle for yet another second place and continue his consistency.

The race of the night was in the big block modified feature as Brian Swartzlander picked up yet another win but not without a great battle with Canadian Mat Williamson. The win was career win number eighty-eight for Swartzlander. Garrett Krummert, Dave Murdick, and Rex King rounded out the top five.

Mike Pegher Jr scored his first win of the season in the late model feature while Joe Kelley was the winner of the sportsman night cap. This Friday will be Armed Forces night at Lernerville and will feature another Fab Four show with sprints cars, late models, big block modifieds, and sportsman.

Mercer Raceway Park lost their show to rain Saturday. They will be back in action this Saturday with a wingless sprint car show featuring the B.O.S.S wingless sprint car series. Heavy overnight rains spoiled the big season opener slated at Tri-City Raceway Park on Sunday. The BRP Modified Tour ’15 portion of the program has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 26th. That means the modifieds will join the 410 sprint cars making for a must see show.

The track is working on rescheduling the other divisions that were scheduled with the modifieds Sunday. The “Pullin’ in the Wilds” Truck and Tractor Pull sanctioned by Full Pull Productions is slated Saturday, May 30th at Tri-City. The event will feature four divisions of trucks and tractors.

Sportsman’s Speedway tried their best to beat the rain on Sunday but during the first stock car heat hard rains hit the track washing out action for the evening. Sportsman’s will try again this Sunday with another four division show along with the compact car demo derby which has been rescheduled.

Both Sharon Speedway and Pittsburgh Motor Speedway fell victim to rain on Saturday. Both tracks will be back in action this Saturday. Sharon will feature the TUSA U.S. Nationals for the mod lites while Pittsburgh will have the PENNational RUSH Sizzler for the crate late models.

The “Reno Rocket” Les Myers continued his winning ways over the weekend. The Vintage Dirt Modified Association visited Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on Friday night where Les picked up the win in the series opener.
