Amos R Wolfgong20150521_19581338Amos Wolfgong, 90 of Summerville, PA, died Wednesday May 20, 2015 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Born January 10, 1925 in Shannondale, PA, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Elsie Rosella Sayers Wolfgong.

Amos was a veteran of WWII serving with the US ARMY until his discharge in October, 1945. On September 13, 1947 Amos was married to Gloria Jean Crissman in Petrolia, PA. She survives in Summerville. Amos was employed at Clarion University as an electrical foreman. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Shannondale, PA. As a hobby Amos helped as a caretaker and records keeper at Union Cemetery at the Shannondale Zion Lutheran Church.

Along with his wife, Amos is survived by a two sons; Melvin (Ruth) Wolfgong of Shippenville, Brian Wolfgong and significant other Erin of Corsica,; a sister Mary Rice of Carlisle, PA.; two grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Bender and Jason (Penny McCleary) Wolfgong; and two great-grandchildren, Allyssa and Cameron Bender.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Nathan, and Blair, and five sisters, Madaline, Narrie, Lena, Vera, and Ruth.

Arrangements are being handled by the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville.

Interment was in the Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank Twp., Clarion County, PA. on Saturday, May 23.
