Police Capture Oil City Man Wanted on Felony Burglary, Theft Charges

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities have apprehended an Oil City man wanted on felony burglary charges.

Franklin-based State Police initiated a search Wednesday for Tyler John Reed, age 27, last known addresses Oil City.

A State Police representative told exploreVenango.com that Reed was captured Thursday around 1:15 p.m. near Pin Oak Village in the Cranberry area.

The representative said Reed was taken into custody without incident.

Eye-witnesses reported several State Police troopers canvassing neighborhoods in the Oil City and Seneca areas Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. Two State Police helicopters were also used to search the area.

Online court records show that the following charges have been filed against Reed at District Magistrate Patrick E. Lowrey’s Office:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

Investigators list the offense date as May 25, 2015.

Reed has been lodged in the Venango County Jail on a warrant issued yesterday.
