Alcohol has been identified as the #1 drug of choice among youth, and according to our youth, one of the easiest to get.
Youth Council Members from Clarion-Limestone High School and Clarion Drug Free Coalition are joining forces in “Project Sticker Shock,” a state-wide youth initiative underwritten by Pennsylvania Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), to educate the public and change attitudes about selling and serving alcohol to anyone under 21.
Local youth worked with Riverhill Beverage. Inc. to spread a “Sticker Shock” wave throughout Clarion by placing stickers on cases of beer.
The Sticker spells out a strong reminder: “Warning: Providing Alcohol to Minors is Illegal, Unhealthy, and Unacceptable. It is illegal to provide alcohol to a person under age 21 and for a minor to use a fake ID.”
The brightly colored stickers stand out on beer cases for all to see.
“Project Sticker Shock” took place on May 19, 2015.
