Psychiatric Patient Allegedly Assaults Police in Clarion

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 8:20 p.m. on June 1, an incident of aggravated assault occurred at Clarion Psychiatric Center, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to police, a patient at Clarion Psychiatric Center barricaded himself inside his room and armed himself with pieces of broken furniture.

When PSP Clarion members attempted to enter the room, the subject threw a piece of wood at a PSP member, police say.

No PSP member was injured, according to police.

No other information was provided.
