Walters PhotoOn June 7, 2015, Scott Walters left his temporary home in Clarion for his permanent home in heaven.

Born in Mechanicsville, Clarion County, on March 23, 1935 to Maurice and Sarah (Shingledecker) Walters, he lived and worked his entire life in the Clarion area. His working career began at Owens-Illinois Glass, Clarion, and later at O-I Closures in Brookville for a total of 25 years. He spent his later years in construction before retiring as co-owner of Evergreen Contracting, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvan “BeeDee” of Clarion, and a son, Don and wife Pat of Chapel Hill, NC. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Denise, of Burlington, KY, three grandsons, Matthew and Andy Walters of Burlington, KY, and Chris Walters of Chapel Hill, NC, and sisters-in-law, Eva, Betty and Barbara, as well as Fran George and Ginny Grady, along with many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, on January 18, 2007, his parents, three brothers, Howard, Dean and Jay, and two sisters, Louise Eshbaugh and Ione.

Memorial donations may be made to the Strattanville United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nancy Zahn of the Strattanville United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Strattanville Cemetery.
