d62b6d117c785eee[1]Lois J. Smith, 71, of Knox, passed away Saturday June 6, 2015 in her home following an extended illness.

Born January 15, 1944, in Clarion, she was the daughter of Carl and Hazel Best. Lois was a graduate of Keystone High School.

She worked as a claims examiner for the employment office out of Oil City where she retired from.

Lois was married to Emory Smith who preceded her in death.

Lois enjoyed decorating, doing her yard work and loved to ride her four-wheeler.

Lois is survived by her two sons Steven (Brenda) Beichner of Brookville and Daniel (Janet Nelson) Beichner of Strattanville, five step children Kitty Knowles, Kim Smith, Tammy Mathews, James Smith and Andrew Smith, her close friend Gale Sanford and a sister Carol Sutton.

Along with her husband and parents Lois was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Weaver.

A private memorial service was held by the family.

Arrangements are being handled by the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc.
