Bessie M. Gadley

Bessie M. Gadley, 87, formerly of Marienville and for the past 10 years at the home of her daughter on Alpine Road in St. Marys, died late Tuesday evening, June 9, 2015 at Elk Haven Nursing Home, where she resided since April.

Born May 7, 1928 in Chickasaw, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Melinda Simmons Englert. On July 10, 1954 in Baxter, she married Crain J. Gadley, who died in 1992.

Bessie had worked as a waitress at the Bucktail Hotel in Marienville, then later at Marienville Glass Containers Corp.
She had attended Elk Baptist Chapel in St. Marys and enjoyed flower gardening.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Gadley of Johnsonburg and Susan Runyan of St. Marys; two sons, Daniel Gadley of Ridgway and John Gadley; and a half-brother, Emmanuel Benn of Rimersburg. Fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren also survive, plus several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are two sisters and four brothers.

A service for Bessie M. Gadley will be celebrated Saturday, June 13 at 1 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville with the rev. Terry Hebert, pastor of the Forest Area Baptist Church in Redclyffe, officiating. Interment will follow in Redclyffe Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday, June 13 at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
