John L. “Louie” Tarr

John-Tarr-1434295307John L. “Louie” Tarr, 82, of 1777 State Route 8, Oil City, passed away at 12:30 am, Sunday, June 14, 2015, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie from complications with diabetes.

Born August 19, 1932 in Kaneville, he was a son of the late Irvin E. and Mae Bradybaugh Tarr.

John attended Oil City area schools.

He was employed by Daniel’s Transfer Company.

John served during the Korean Conflict in the US Air Force from February 1952 to February 1956. His most significant duty assignment was with the 6520th OPRON.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, was an avid gardener and had a greenhouse. John also tried his luck at the casinos.

John enjoyed the companionship of his friend Carol Beightol. He also enjoyed chatting it up with his pet bird and spent lots of time putting puzzles together.

He was married to the former Charlotte Rose Fento, who preceded him in death.

John is survived by his son, Gregory A. Tarr; five brothers, Donald Tarr, Jack Tarr, Arnold Tarr, Irvin Tarr and Jim Tarr; and one sister, Rose Wright.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, John L. Tarr, Jr., and a brother, Norman C. Tarr.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Wednesday with the Rev. Chad Bailey, officiating.

Full Military Honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard.

Interment will be in the Cherrytree Cemetery.
