Member_147584[1]Ronald Glenn “Tex” Williams, 83, of Kaylor, Foringer Rd.,Karns City, left this world for his eternal reward on June 14, 2015 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

The youngest of eleven siblings, he was born on Sept 2, 1931 in Craigsville, to the late Robert E. and Lula M. Ridley Williams.

He married his wife of 61 years, Twila Hillwig Williams in Kaylor on Jan. 21, 1954. She survives.

He served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and worked for 44-1/2 years at Penreco in Karns City, retiring in 1993. He was a longtime member of the Chicora Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he was still active, serving as elder and song leader.

He was a kind and gentle man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and enjoyed doing volunteer work for ACMH where he frequently shared the Gospel with patients. He also loved gardening, fishing, camping, woodcarving, singing and playing his guitar, and cooking special meals for his large family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara May and her husband, Clyde, of Brockway; three sons, Steven Williams and his wife, Karen, of Fairmount City, Kenneth Williams and his wife, Kimberly, of Sherman, TX, and Tim Williams and his wife, Kim, of Chicora; eleven grandchildren, Shawn May, Chad May and his wife, Arian, Amber Carson and her husband, Brandon, Brandy Hartle and her husband, Brian, Trevor Williams, Kayla Lege, Madison Williams, Morgan Williams, Elyse Kaufman and her husband, Josh, and Ethan & Cullen Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Blain and Aiden May, Audrey May, Parker Carson, Lauren and Calyssa Hartle, and Owen and Luke Kaufman; dozens of nieces and nephews; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and beloved cats, Milly and Molly.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill McCollums, Bobby, Frank, Richard, James, and Donald Williams and his sisters, Clara Turney, Dorothy Evans, Helen Henry, and Mary Prete.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from Noon – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Chicora Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Mark Wallace and Rev. Jerry Pyle, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co.
