RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a one-vehicle rollover crash occurred around 7:59 a.m. on June 16 on Interstate 80, in Richland Township, Clarion County.

According to police, the crash occurred as 22-year-old Hector L. Figueroa, of Juana Diaz, PR, was traveling west on I-80 near the 46.6 mile marker and fell asleep at the wheel.

His 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser drifted into the ditch on the north side of the roadway and then proceeded to rollover one time before coming to a rest on its wheels in the north side ditch, police say.

Figueroa and his passenger — 22-year-old Wesley J. Figueroa Caraballo, of Columbus, OH — were both wearing seat belts.

Figueroa suffered moderate injuries, and Figueroa Caraballo sustained minor injures in the collision.

Both were transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment, say police.

Figueroa was cited with a traffic violation.

PSP Clarion were assisted at the scene by Emlenton VFD.
