Police Searching for Men Involved in Distant Home Intrusion

police-line-1024x680MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Southern Clarion County Regional Police Chief Scott Ryan told exploreClarion.com that they are in search of two men believed to be involved in an intrusion incident in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.

Chief Ryan reported that two men attempted to enter a residence on Kohlerburg Road near Distant. The actors are described as two white males, both thin and about 6 feet tall. They were wearing hooded sweatshirts, gloves, and sunglasses.

Ryan said that the men attempted to enter the house through the rear basement door of the home. The men also asked repeatedly to be let into the house.

“The female resident of the house yelled out to the men telling them that she had a gun,” according to Ryan. “She then went upstairs to retrieve the gun as the two men moved to the front door of the house. The men continued to ask the woman to let them in.”

When the resident returned with the gun, she aimed it at the men through the door which had a transparent glass window allowing the men to see the gun.

The men then fled the scene in what was described as an older blue GM truck with a turquoise stripe down the side.

The resident called the police at 11:45 a.m. on June 16. 2015

Police are working with local residents and organizations to find and identify the two men. Video footage featuring possible sightings of the vehicle in question are under review.
