Thumbnail[1]Steven Jeffrey Bopp, known as Billy Bopp, age 59, died suddenly of natural causes on June 17th.

He was born March 26, 1956, the 4th child of Charles William and Ruby Pearl Bopp, both deceased. Also preceding him in death were both pairs of grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his siblings, Deborah, of Franklin, Samuel, of Arvada, Colorado, and Robert Gene, of Seneca; beloved nieces and nephews and their children; aunts, uncles, cousins; and his many close friends.

Bill proudly served as a Marine in Camp Pendleton, CA, during the Vietnam War Era. He was a very easy-going guy, full of laughter and fun. He had a very active mind and loved to build and repair all manner of things.

His interests were many. He enjoyed reading, aviation, observing wildlife (especially bears and turkeys) with his telescope from the porch at the farm, playing with the dogs, fishing in the local waterways, working on the farm, and sitting by an outdoor fire with friends over cocktails during a picnic.

Billy Bopp was buried June 19th at the farm of his sister, per his wishes to “be returned to the earth” in a “green” casket, with his close friends and family in attendance.

His sudden death was a shock to all who knew him. All those whose lives he touched will miss him deeply.

There will be no formal service. However, a Memorial/Celebration of Life Potluck will be held at the Atlantic United Brethren in Christ Church on Sunday, June 28th from 2 to 4:30 p.m. ALL of Bill’s friends and family are invited to attend this tribute.
