Richard Vaughn Chase

Richard Vaughn Chase, 52, of Washington, formerly of Grove City, died on Monday, June 22, 2015 after a two and a half year battle with cancer.

He was born on May 2, 1963 in Grove City, PA to Shirley Myers Chase and Rodger L. Chase.

He married the former Michele A. Watkins on September 2, 1989, and she survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Rachel Jeanne Chase, who was the light of his life.

Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Rodger and Nola Chase of Clintonville; his sisters, Linda M. Kvietkus (Vincent) of Natrona Heights, E. Carol Dunkerley of Stoneboro; brother Gregory A. Chase (Beth) of Jamestown, NY; nieces and nephews Nikki L. Kvietkus of Pittsburgh, Jude E. Kvietkus (Emillie) of Oceanside, CA, Nicole Dunkerley of New Castle, and Korbin P. Chase of Jamestown, NY; great nieces Micah and Eden Kvietkus; aunts Ruth Chase and Nancy Alfreno; uncles Herbert Chase (Louise) and William Myers (Phyllis), and numerous cousins.

Deceased are his mother, Shirley Myers Chase; his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Olive Myers; his paternal grandparents, Newell and Mary Chase; his sister, Pamela Jean Kutsch; a nephew, Jared V. Kutsch, and an uncle, Frederick T. Chase.

He graduated from Franklin High School in 1981 and Penn State University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1985.

He was proud to be part of the family of Chemco Systems, LLP, in Monongahela, PA for 20 years as chief electrical engineer.

He was also proud to be a part of the family of Trinity Church in Washington, PA.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27th, in Trinity Church, 550 S. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301, with the Rev. Karen B. Stevenson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Trinity Church at the above address for use in their youth fund.
