KINGSLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say an incident of theft took place 2 miles south of Mayburg on Route 666, in Kingsley Township, Forest County.

Police say this crime occurred between 6:44 p.m. and 9:36 p.m. on June 28, while the Marienville Volunteer Fire Company was on scene of a downed tree.

The department placed two chainsaws along Route 666 and waited for the electric company to finish work on the downed power line, according to police.

After the electric company finished, fire department personnel returned to the scene to cut up and remove the downed tree.

Police say upon returning to the scene the department discovered the chainsaws had been stolen by an unknown actor.

The chainsaws are described as a camouflage-colored 14″ Pulan and a 16″ Stihl.
