Police Investigate Hit and Run on I-80 Construction Zone in Beaver Township

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 8:56 p.m. on July 1, a hit and run accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, 2/10 mile east of Canoe Ripple Road, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 45-year-old Sabahudin Osmanagic, of Hamtramck, MI, was traveling east on I-80 in a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer in the left lane and was approaching the merge point in the construction zone.

An unidentified vehicle was traveling east in the right lane approaching the merge point and was attempting to overtake the Peterbilt on the right. The unidentified vehicle began merging into the left lane, and the left side of the vehicle impacted with the right side of the Peterbilt, police say.

After impact, the unidentified vehicle continued eastward without stopping. The Peterbilt stopped after exiting the construction area, according to police.

Osmanagic was using a seat belt and was not injured.

No other information was provided.
