Tim L. McCarthy, 53, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, July 7th at UPMC — Montefiore in Pittsburgh, following an illness.
Born July 18, 1961 in Franklin, Tim was the son of the late Charles William “Bill” and Jean A. McCall McCarthy. He was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and was employed as a carpenter for Stan Hepler Construction.
Tim was a very active hunter. He was a member of the Rainbow Beagle Club and enjoyed training dogs. He also enjoyed teaching Beginners Safety, Hunting Techniques, and Tracking and Harvesting Wild Game and Birds.
Tim is survived by his sister, Peggy Burkhardt and her husband, Ralph E., of Virginia Beach, VA; 2 special aunts, Connie Hawthorne of Franklin and Sarah McCall of Akron, OH; 2 nieces, Gina Smith and her husband, Jimmy, and Marci Walter and her husband, Tom, all of Chesapeake, VA; and 2 great nieces, Jessica Jo Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, and Hailey Rae Smith of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by his special hunting buddies.
Family and friends of Tim will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, July 10th from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11th at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
