Alan J. Ruminski

RUMINSKI alanAlan J. Ruminski, 54, a resident of 1163 Mercer Road, Franklin died peacefully at 10:10 AM Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in his home with his wife by his side; following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 27, 1961 in Olean, NY; a beloved son of Gladys Tonner Ruminski and the late Melvin L. Ruminski.

Alan attended St. Patrick School in Franklin and was a 1979 graduate of Venango Christian High School in Oil City.

He had travelled throughout the country for many years as an equipment installer with Alcatel/Lucent Technologies. He spent much of his working career with the company in Texas, before returning back home to Franklin; when failing health forced his early retirement.

Alan enjoyed golfing as often as he could, and collecting and running remote controlled cars. He also enjoyed automobiles, especially classic cars, and restoring them. Most important always to Alan was his family and friends. He cherished the fun times he could be with them. He will be deeply missed by many who had come to love him; most especially perhaps by his beloved dachshund: Cinnamon.

He was married September 10, 1994 to the former: Martha “Marty” Boyd, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two step-sons: Joseph I. Baker and Jonathan B. Baker and by his grandson, whom he dearly loved: Jonah Baker.

Also surviving is his mother: Gladys Ruminski of Franklin, a sister: Theresa (David) Price of Butler, and two brothers: Paul (Pamela) Ruminski of Phoenix, AZ and David Ruminski of Erie; and by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin L. Ruminski on March 8th of this year.

Friends may call Saturday 4-7 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin. A blessing service will be conducted Saturday evening at 7 PM in the funeral home with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor of St. Patrick Church in Franklin officiating.
