Christine A. (MacWhirter) Harper, 61, of West Hickory, Pa and formerly of Erie, passed away, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born on November 15, 1953 in Erie, daughter of the Jean (Kujkowski) MacWhirter and the late Robert T. MacWhirter.
Chris was employed as a telephone operator for GTE & Verizon for 29 years. She loved the outdoors, hunting, golfing boating and riding motorcycles.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas MacWhirter.
Survivors include her mother; husband, David W. Harper; son, Kristopher S. Harper of Erie; daughter, Dawn C. Goss (Jason) of Erie; grandchildren, Tori and Taryn Goss and Keegan Harper; brothers, David MacWhirter of Chicago, Michael MacWhirter (Carol), Robert MacWhirter (Judi), Richard MacWhirter (Rose) and Joseph MacWhirter (Judy) all of Erie; sisters, Debra Johnson (Spinner) of Georgia and Patricia Lamary (Robert) of Erie; sister-in-law, Cathy Gosztonyi; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and are invited to attend a funeral mass on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street at 10:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
