BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 10:23 a.m. on July 10, a car versus bear accident occurred on Interstate 80, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 61-year-old Jeanne M. Hanlon, of Bayshore, NY, was traveling west on I-80 when a bear entered the roadway into the path of her 2002 Honda Accord.

Hanlon was unable to avoid the bear, and it impacted the front of her car, police say.

After impact, Hanlon pulled her car into the closed lane of I-80, and the bear continued north into the woods, according to police.

Hanlon was using a seat belt and was not injured.
