Dorothy Bell Guntrum

Guntrum DorothyDorothy Bell Guntrum, of Sawmill Road, passed away on July 15, 2015, at her home. She was 84 years of age.

Born on October 18, 1930, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry Elmer, Sr. and Alma Guntrum. She attended school at the Polk State School.

Dorothy enjoyed walking at the Clarion Mall and visiting with her friends. She enjoyed singing and dancing, participating in the Silver Sneakers program at the Clarion YMCA, playing with musical toys and baby dolls and collecting and wearing beads. She really liked watching I Love Lucy and The Three Stooges on TV. She especially loved going out into the community with her one-on-one staff from U.C.I.P., who loved her equally back. Dorothy was able to cheer up people with her sheer joy for life. She was always smiling, laughing, dancing, or singing.

Dorothy is survived by her siblings, Olive, Viola, Mabel (and husband Keith Rieck), Harry, Hazel and Bessie. She is also survived by her nephews, Stephen (Cindy) Rieck, Daniel (Lucindy) Rieck, Timothy (Connie) Rieck, John (Kristy) Rieck, and her nieces, Becky Rieck and Rhoda Rieck, as well as two great-nephews and a great-niece. She will also be greatly missed by her two caregivers, Randy and Terrie Eland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion, where visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Karen Parsh of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Knox, officiating. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
