Mark A. Bell

Bell MarkMark A. Bell, age 51, of Clarion, passed away early Sunday morning, July 19, 2015 at the Clarion Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Born September 20, 1963, in Clarion, he was the son of Barbara Cope Bauer and the late Robert Bell.

He was a graduate of the Keystone High School, formerly owned and operated Keystone Surplus in Youngsville and currently delivered the Oil City Derrick.

Mark was a member of the NRA and was a collector of guns and knives. He also collected beer steins and baseball and football cards.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Mark was a very intellectual and unique individual with strong beliefs. He was a proud Republican. But, most importantly, he had a big heart and a generous nature.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Bauer of Clarion, his daughter, Lana Beth Bell of Girard, Ohio; two grandchildren: Aleena Jane Frantz and Dakota Jay Frantz, both of Girard, Ohio; one sister, Sandi Henry and her husband, Matt, of Leeper; a niece, Tabitha VanDyke and her husband, Eric and a great nephew and great niece, Ethan and Hayley VanDyke, all of Leeper.

Mark is also survived by his step children: Scott Strotman, Scott Strawbridge, Nathan Stucke and Jessica Stucke; his companion, Dianna Shick of Clarion and his beloved dog, Bandit.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Pearl Cope; paternal grandparents, John and Delores Bell and his step-father, Frank Bauer.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Mark’s cousin, the Reverend Raymond Cope, officiating over the service.

Interment will follow at the Perry Chapel Cemetery in Pine City, Elk Township, Clarion County.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Mark A. Bell to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
