Thompson RobertRobert E. (Bob) Thompson, 84, of 28 W Fourth St, Oil City, passed away Friday July 17, 2015.

Born March 4, 1931 in Rouseville, he was the son of the late John and Sara Johnson Thompson.

Bob worked as a bricklayer and stone mason for 50 years.

He was drafted into the US Army in 1952 and served in the Korean Conflict.

On May 16, 1952, Bob married the former Ruth Anne Feely, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Ziemba of Oil City; a son, Robert E. Thompson and his wife Christine of Ocala FL; and a daughter Jan Tackett and her husband Wade of Ocklawaha FL.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Sara Ziemba, Andrew Ziemba, Jonathan Casey Thompson, Ashley Enos and Lauren Enos; and his great grandchildren, Michael Ziemba, Jr., Jasmine Ziemba and Caitlin Ziemba.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice Brown and Laura Hole; and a grandson, Michael Ziemba.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 7 pm Tuesday with the Rev. Gale Boocks, officiating.

Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or to a charity of one’s choice.
