Widenor WilmaWilma C. Widenor, age 81, formerly of Clarion, died July 21, 2015, at the Brookside Manor in Brookville.

Born on April 24, 1934, in Taylor, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Cook Sr. and Alma (Noakes) Cook.

Wilma was a 1951 graduate of Taylor High in Taylor, PA. She studied at Nyack College in Nyack, NY, majoring in Christian Education of youth and children. She served as a pastor’s wife with her husband in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches for 34 years in the Western Pennsylvania District for most of that time.

She was married to Rev. Robert S. Widenor who preceded her in death on September 29, 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarion.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert S. Widenor and his wife Bonnie of Houston, PA, Timothy S. Widenor and his wife Diane of Scotia, NY; one daughter, Martha Henry and her husband Warren of Leeper, PA; and her grandchildren, Robert S. Widenor III, Ross Widenor (and fianci Anthony Coffman), Blair (Cara) Henry, Ruth (David) To, and Lydia Widenor, and her great-grandchild, Serenity Widenor.

Preceding her in addition to her husband and parents were a brother, Thomas H. Cook Jr, and her sisters, Shirley Cook, and Elizabeth Cook Yackabowitz.

Family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 24 from 1:00 p.m. to time of the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Main Street & 7th Avenue in Clarion, with Randy Leadbetter, Assistant Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the North Chinchilla Cemetery, Chinchilla, Pennsylvania.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion.
