Wade Frank Frank C. Wade, 92, of Seneca, passed away at Trinity Living Center on Friday, July 24, 2015.

Frank was born on January 4, 1923, in Eau Claire. He was the son of John and Dolly Crawford Wade.

He received his education in Eau Claire.

Frank was a WWII veteran; he served in the Army and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after serving in the Battery C 753rd Field Artillery Battalion, 84th Infantry Division.

Frank married Florence “Ernestine” Scott Wade on June 29, 1946. She passed away on October 12, 2010.

Frank worked in the local coal mines in the Six Points area upon returning from the service. He did farm work as well for the local farmers in that area. Frank retired from G & L Steel in Oil City after 39 1/2 years of service as a crane operator.

Frank was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church in Seneca and has read the Bible cover to cover over 51 times.

He was a member of the Knox Archery Club and the Oil City American Legion. He was also a member of the G & L Bowling League where he won numerous trophies and awards.

Frank loved to go hunting and fishing. He especially loved going to the Gulf Coast and Canada to do some fishing with his wife. Frank and Ernestine traveled throughout the United States and enjoyed wintering with their son Bill in Alabama.

More recently, Frank enjoyed tinkering around his house and helping his neighbors with yard work and keeping his flower beds and garden looking great.

Frank is survived by a nephew Clair Wade and his wife Sally of Oil City and nieces Judy Delisio and her husband Ronald of Petrolia, Norma J. Scott of VA, and Sandy L. Mayes and her husband Norman of Emlenton. He is also survived by a special friend Joyce Schwab of Seneca.

Frank is proceeded in death by his wife, a son William Wade, a daughter Linda Wade, his brothers Raymond, Glenn, John Jr., and Robert Wade, and his sisters Thelma Sharm, Elda Wade, and Nora Hice.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home on Sunday, July 26, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on July 26 with the Rev. William Hastings officiating from the Seneca Methodist Church.

Interment will be at East Unity Cemetery.
