REDBANK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 2:09 p.m. on July 25, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Mayport Road, west of Hickory Drive, in Redbank Township, Clarion County.

Police say 24-year-old William M. Scheerbaum, of Pittsburgh, and 59-year-old Carolyn C. Kunselman, of Rimersburg, were involved in the collision.

Kunselman was traveling eastbound on Mayport Road, negotiating a left turn in the roadway in her 2007 Kia Rio and was unable to avoid Scheerbaum’s 2012 Kia Soul traveling partially in the eastbound lane.

Scheerbaum’s Kia Soul’s left front end impacted with Kunselman’s Kia Rio’s right side in the center of the turn, according to police.

After impact, both vehicles pulled onto the north berm, police say.

Scheerbaum was not injured.

Kunselman suffered minor injuries.

Two passengers in Kunselman’s car — 33-year-old Jessica Doverspike and a 6-year-old female, both of Saxonburg — were not injured.

All occupants were using seat belt.

Scheerbaum was charged with a traffic violation.

Clarion Hospital Ambulance assisted at the scene.
