Man Falls Asleep at the Wheel, Slams into Tree off Route 62

TIONESTA BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — According to Marienville-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 62, Elm Street, north of Cemetery Street, in Tionesta Borough, Forest County.

Police say 57-year-old Ronald B. Beach, of West Hickory, was traveling north on Route 62 and fell asleep.

His 2001 Buick LeSabre traveled off the right side of the roadway and impacted and jumped the curb, continued north and impacted a mailbox. The car then impacted a utility pole, two more mailboxes, and then a tree in a front yard where it came to rest off the right side of the roadway, facing northeast, according to police.

Beach was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Tionesta EMS assisted at the scene.
