Clarion Woman Enters Plea in Bath Salts Case

2015_06_22_kara_ingram[1]CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — One of the individuals allegedly involved in the June 16 bath salts sting at the Clarion Post Office has agreed to plead guilty to charges of use or possession of drug paraphernalia in Clarion County Central Court.

Kara Jean Ingram, 23, of Clarion, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children and use or possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the June 16 incident.

The state agreed to withdraw charges of endangerment of children in exchange for the guilty plea.

Ingram shared a home along Robinwood Drive in Clarion with Abram Michael Crosby, 29, who faces the same charges. The couple reportedly lived with two other men and a two-year-old child and a two-month-old child.

Following their June 16 arrest, Ingram allegedly told police both she and Crosby had used bath salts at the residence and indicated bath salts and drug paraphernalia were present there, prompting police to obtain and execute a search warrant.

While searching the home, police allegedly seized eight items, including pipes and bongs used to smoke bath salts, straws, and pipes to smoke marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.

One of the pipes seized by police had been laying on a bed in plain view on the second floor of the residence, where the children would have had access to it, police say.

In addition to Ingram and Crosby, also charged in the bath salts incident were Kerry Ann Krempel, 40, of Johnsonburg, Elk County; Richard Allen Servidea, 51, of Wilcox, Elk County; Ryan Joseph Thomas, 26, of Kane, McKean County; Donielle Nicole Beichner, of Clarion; and Jason Paul McCandless, 40, of Dagus Mines, Elk County.
