Armstrong County Jail Escapee Apprehended

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — State Police have now apprehended an inmate who escaped from the Armstrong County Jail and allegedly killed a 55-year-old woman.

According to State Police, inmate Robert Crissman was captured this morning after he was fleeing in a pickup truck which crashed.

Crissman was injured and taken to the hospital.

Crissman allegedly escaped yesterday morning when he walked away from his trustee duties at the Armstrong County Jail.

Authorities in Armstrong County say Crissman is considered a suspect in a homicide that occurred Monday on Rayburn Road near the jail.

The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Tammy Long. Specific details on the homicide have not yet been released.
