Muriel R. Harry Reese

Reese MurielMuriel R. Harry Reese, 92, of Seneca, passed away peacefully at Oakwood Heights in Oil City Thursday morning, August 6, 2015,with her family by her side.

She was born in Oil City on September 25, 1922 to the late Irving J. and Ruby K. (Campbell) Reid.

She graduated from Oil City High School and later studied to become a registered nurse at the Oil City Nursing School.

Muriel was a member of Seneca United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed knitting and sewing, and while a resident at Oakwood Heights knitted and donated many ‘caps for cancer.’ She was an avid Steelers football fan and liked watching baseball games on television. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens.

Muriel was employed as a registered nurse at the Oil City Hospital for many years. She then worked as a visiting home nurse for cerebral palsy through the Elks Lodge; and also worked as a store greeter at Wal-Mart.

She was married to Bruce M. Harry, and he preceded her in death. She later married Robert N. Reese, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are her five sons: Jerry Harry and his wife Sue of Oil City, Rick Harry and his wife Vickie of Oil City, Rob Harry of Cooper City, Florida, Jim Harry and his wife Julie of Seneca, and Scott Harry of Tippery. Also surviving are twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Heald, and a special friend, Art Benninger.

Friends will be received Friday (Aug. 7th) from 5-9 p.m. and on Saturday (Aug. 8th) from 10-11 a.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William E. Hastings, pastor of Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
