Erwin DonnaDonna M. Erwin, 78, of Seneca, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2015 at UPMC Northwest.

She was born in Franklin on July 21, 1937 to the late William M. and Dorothy (Hartzell) O’Neil.

Donna was a graduate of Cranberry High School.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Donna was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips. She served as a leader for the Silver Spurs 4-H club in Victory Heights.

Mrs. Erwin was employed as a sales clerk for the Bon-Ton store in the mall for a number of years. She was a loving mother and a dedicated homemaker.

In 1956 she married Robert E. ‘Bob’ Erwin and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2015.

Surviving are two children, Trudy A. Beers of Kennerdell and Rick R. Erwin and his wife Lori Ann of Seneca; seven grandchildren: Katie Williams and her husband Kevin of Kennerdell, Rick Erwin and his wife Kelly of Oil City, Caleb A. Beers and his wife Kaylee of Franklin, Megan A. Beers and her significant other Katie Sayre of Kennerdell, Josh Blum and his companion Alica Beach of Seneca, Nathan Blum and his wife Michelle of Franklin, and Justin Blum of Seneca; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Erwin, and Kody and Kolby Williams.

Also surviving are two brothers, James O’Neil and his wife Betty of Cranberry and Dennis O’Neil and his wife Mae of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Janice Erwin of Fertigs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard O’Neil, and a sister, Geraldine Flinchbaugh.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday (Aug. 11th) from noon until 2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, pastor of Nicklin United Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
