Jefferson County Man Allegedly Bites Woman’s Nose, Punches Her in Head Twice

HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say an incident of Simple Assault occurred at a residence on Spring Run Road in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say on August 8, 2015, at approximately 1:55 a.m., 37-year-old Joseph Benjamin Himes, of Reynoldsville, and a 33-year-old Reynoldsville woman got into a verbal argument.

The argument escalated and Himes allegedly grabbed the victim, punched her twice in the head, and bit her in the nose, according to police.

The accused then allegedly fled the scene and an arrest warrant was issued.

Police say Himes turned himself in at the Punxsutawney State Police Barracks at 11:10 a.m. the same day.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Charges were filed at Magisterial District Court 54-3-02.

According to court documents, Himes is being charged with Misdemeanor 2 Simple Assault and Summary Harassment.
