Paul M. McCauley

Paul M. McCauley, 75, of Venus, died Tuesday morning, August 11, 2015 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born November 1, 1939 in Bradford, the son of the late Daniel and Cleo (Winkler) McCauley.

He was a member of the Living Word Church where he taught Sunday school. He was a former member of the Seneca Evangelical Congregational Church. Paul also led a weekly bible study at the Golden Living Center in Oil City for many years.

Paul was very interested in electronics and mechanical workings at an early age. He repaired televisions and radios for many years. He was the owner of Shippenville Aviation and held FAA certifications in aircraft and power plant as well as inspection authorizations, specializing in airplane engine repair. He bought, repaired, and sold a number of aircraft through the years. He restored a 1947 Stinson plane; and built and maintained his own licensed airport on his property in Venus. He was well known for being a knowledgeable and meticulous airplane mechanic, and owners brought their aircraft to him always knowing that their plane was being cared for by the best.

He was married in Knox on April 13, 1959 to the former Doris Glas, and she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters: Linda Heath and her husband Greg of Lamartine, Tina Acierno of Coal Hill, and Kelly Keefer and her husband Rodney of Choctaw, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Garrett Heath and his wife Autumn, Courtney Heuer and her husband Jarred, Jordan Heath, Hannah Keefer, Jacob Keefer and his wife Anna, and Abi, Julia, and Lydia Keefer; and four great-grandchildren, Greyson, Tenley, Elias, and Talan.

He is also survived by a sister, Eunice Haynes, two brothers, Daniel McCauley and his wife Maxine and James McCauley and his wife Donna; two half-brothers, Daniel and David McCauley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jane McCauley and Lois Baldwin; a brother, Laverne McCauley; and a son-in-law, John Acierno.
