Samuel Alvin Cussins

Samuel Alvin Cussins, 66, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Regency Hospital of Central Georgia.

Samuel was born on November 21, 1948 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran having served his country in the United States Army. Samuel also retired from Anchor Glass after 42 years of dedicated service. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a lifetime member of the NRA and VFW. He was also a lifetime member of the Forest County Sportsman Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck McCanna and son-in-law, Chris Slater.

Samuel’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 15 years, Clara Cussins of Perry; children, Tammy Williams of Nebraska, Tracy Slater of Marienville, Pennsylvania, Marti Cadle (Paul) of Rome, Georgia, and Pattie and William Marshall (Stephannie), both of Alaska; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Velma McCanna of Marienville, Pennsylvania; sister, Mary Stevenson (Terry) of York, Pennsylvania; brother, Gary McCanna of Marienville, Pennsylvania; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A second visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial to in Vowinckel, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Samuel to Greenwood United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4448 Forest Road, Vowinckel, PA 16260.
