Lucinda Man Escapes Injury in Vehicle vs. Deer Crash

BARNETT TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Marienville report no injuries following a one-vehicle crash in Barnett Township, Forest County.

Police report the 2:15 p.m. August 18 crash occurred when a 2006 Ford E-350 operated by Keith D. Johnston, 49, of Lucinda, was traveling north along State Route 899.

A deer jumped from the east side of the roadway directly into the path of the vehicle, and Johnston was unable to avoid the deer, striking it with the right front of the vehicle.

The vehicle continued north of State Route 899 with the deer resting in a ditch to the west of the roadway.

Johnston was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury.
