‘Blue Lives Matter’ in Knox Demonstration

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — “Blue Lives Matter” was the theme of a Friday noon gathering held at Knox Ambulance in support the nation’s law enforcement officers.

“I wanted to thank everyone that attended the Police Tribute event,” said Kevin Ashbaugh, EMT Knox Ambulance. “I am sort of being credited as the organizer of the tribute. That is not really the case. It all started when I saw Texas Governor Abbott’s request that all Texas law enforcement activate their emergency lights for one minute in tribute to law enforcement at the time that Deputy Goforth’s funeral was to start.”

“We were pleased and very grateful to everyone that attended. You all are the ones that made it happen by attending, sharing the event through social media, etc. I would also like to thank Jon Weaver, Supervisor of McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, for offering their parking lot if we needed it for attendees. It’s great living in a small town that has giant supporters of not only our police, but all emergency services.”

Goforth was ambushed and fatally shot multiple times over the weekend while pumping gas into his cruiser. He left behind a wife and two children.
