CLARION UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HOMECOMING PARADE RECEPTION

The Clarion University Alumni Association Homecoming Parade Reception will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the Walter Hart Chapel parking lot on the Clarion University Campus from 10:00 am to 12 Noon. This year’s parade reception will feature activities for kids, live music, a fun photo opportunity, and a chance to meet the Clarion University mascot. Visit with various alumni groups, academic departments and campus groups at their tables. Commemorative event pins will be available for all. Alumni and their family will enjoy complimentary hot dogs, popcorn, blue and gold cotton candy and drinks. For a free parking pass or more information, please call 814-393-2572.

FL CROOKS & CO CELEBRATES 110TH ANNIVERSARY

Join FL Crooks & Co as they celebrate their 110th anniversary during the 62nd Annual Autumn Leaf Festival™, sponsored by the United States Army! In honor of 110 years in business, FL Crooks & Co will construct a 110 pound ice cream sundae in front of their store at 539 Main Street in Clarion. The sundae will be constructed and served beginning at 11:00 am prior to the Clarion Hospital “Tournament of Leaves Parade.” The ice cream is free for all to enjoy, so make sure to stop by and join the fun! FL Crooks & Co was founded by Frank Laughlin Crooks in 1905 at the Wilson Building, located at 539 Main Street. Mr. Crooks was the first tenant of the building, which was constructed by Dr. Wilson of Clarion. Within a few years, Mr. Crooks’ younger brother, J.M. Crooks, joined the business, eventually buying the store entirely in 1930. After World War II, the business passed into the hands of J.M. Crooks’ son, Don Crooks. One hundred and ten years later, FL Crooks & Co remains a popular business on Main Street in Clarion. It is currently owned by Jim Crooks who purchased the store from his father, Don, in 1984.

Join the 62nd Annual Autumn Leaf Festival™, sponsored by the United States Army, as it celebrates all Clarion has to be proud of during the Clarion Hospital “Tournament of Leaves Parade” on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The parade will showcase marching bands, floats, and organizations of the grandest kind! The parade steps off at 12:00 pm on Main Street in Clarion. Reserved seats are available for purchase at the Clarion Area Chamber of Business & Industry, 650 Main Street, for $8.00 each. EAGLE ENDZONE ALUMNI PARTY

Come to the Eagle Endzone on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 1:00 pm and join fellow alumni as we cheer on our Golden Eagles to a homecoming victory against the Mercyhurst Lakers at 2:00 pm at Memorial Stadium. All alumni and their families will have a bird’s-eye view of the game and endless appetizers. The first 100 people to register will receive a free T-shirt. CLARION UNIVERSITY HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME

The Clarion University Homecoming Football Game will be held at the university’s Memorial Stadium at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015. SEIDLE CHEVROLET-BUICK-GMC “WILD WORLD OF ANIMALS” SHOW

The Seidle Chevrolet-Buick-GMC “Wild World of Animals Show,” will be held in front of the Clarion County Courthouse on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. The show features a variety of animals, such as reptiles, birds, and mammals. You may see an American alligator, alligator snapping turtle, albino monocle cobra, European eagle owl, blue and gold macaw, opossum, binturong, spot-nose guenon monkey, African spotted leopard, or maybe, a hyena. You won’t want to miss this family event—it’s educational entertainment! FIRST UNITED NATIONAL BANK “OLDIES CONCERT”

The First United National Bank “Oldies Concert” will be held on Saturday evening, October 3, 2015, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Returning to perform for this year’s concert is oldies band “American Pie.” The concert will be held in front of the Clarion County Courthouse.
