ferrisDonna L. Ferris, 76, of Chestnut Ridge Rd., Emlenton, Richland Twp., Clarion County passed away at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Clarion Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Ferris was born in Beaver Twp., Clarion County on July 11, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Virginia Buck Sayers. She was a long time member of New Zion E.C. Church in Emlenton, and enjoyed reading, going to yard sales and collecting antique doll figurines. Donna most especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. Mrs. Ferris was a 1957 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox, and had been employed as a bookkeeper for Shoup Trucking in Emlenton for several years.

She was married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Knox on December 30, 1962 to Charles K. Ferris; he survives. Also surviving is a son, Steve Ferris and his wife, Christine of Emlenton, a daughter, Beverly J. Glenn and her husband, Tim, of Jamestown, NY; six grandchildren, Hunter Ferris, a student at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY, Jessica Ferris, a student at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy in Charleston, WV, Trapper and Archer Ferris, both of Emlenton, Andrea Matecki, an English teacher at Falconer Central High School, and Reid Matecki, an RN at WCA Hospital, both of Jamestown, NY; four sisters, Mary Lou Harp and her husband, Gary of Foxburg, Ruth Cussins and her husband, Ron, of Marienville, LaVonne McCoy and her husband, Dan, of Foxburg, and Linda Downing and her husband, Gary of Emlenton, as well as a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Ferris was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from 11-4 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Brown, pastor of the New Zion E.C. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, near Turkey City.
